Parkour

Jill performing a kong vault

L’art du déplacement = the art of movement. Parkour in it's simplest sense, is traveling from point A to point B as quickly and efficiently as possible, regardless of what objects may be in the way. The practice of parkour involves vaulting, climbing, crawling and navigating various obsticals.

During our parkour sessions, we teach how to safely learn the techniques and skills used in parkour. We work on developing a sense of flow and improvisation so that when the time comes to use these skills, the movements will come naturally.

Our parkour classes go beyond "purist parkour" in that we do include "street stunts" or tricks that do not necessarily improve speed or efficiency when traveling, but do help develop kinesthetic awareness and will improve the more pure parkour movements. Besides, it's just a lot of fun.

Practicing parkour develops strength, agility, creativity, stamina, accuracy and more. Come down and try out a class.
