That's one of the best revelations you can have. Most people don't realize they feel bad. Once things change, then they get a taste of what they used to feel like it's a completely different thing. Try telling someone that though. "You feel like crap right now and don't even know it" heh... Not a good conversation starter.

Mon Mar 22 7A handful dry roasted peanuts 8A coffee w/ cream, 2 hard boiled eggs 11A big salad (spinach, carrots, broccoli, bell pepper, 2oz salami, 2oz blue cheese, 1oz croutons, 3T dressing), water 3P apple with peanut butter 7P 2c steamed broccoli with garlic, 8oz grilled pork cutlets, 1T tonkatsu sauce, 12 oz low fat milk
Felt good going into the 4PM workout, having the HBE in the morning instead of a full omelet cooked in butter was a good choice for me.

Mar 24 7am coffee and cream, 12 oz smoothie 11a big chefs salad with hardboiled egg and bacon and shredded zucchini 1:45 small cappuccino 5:30 1/2 plain cheeseburger on a bun 8:00 1/2 pork cutlet (2oz) on a corn tortilla, 12 oz milk
I'm hungry! Time planning went badly tonight, over committed and no time to eat. Plus I had to sacrifice half my leftover pork cutlet to Nathan, because he wanted to try it and then he loved it. Grr.

Emily, your diet looks pretty good to me, not that I am any expert! Have you noticed anything about the way you feel and/or perform, either during workouts, or while going about your ordinary daily business?
For me, it took a few months before I really noticed any impact from the changes I made to my diet. It was one of those slow and steady things ... nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing and then whoa, something changed!

Martin, thanks for checking it over. I've noticed two things that I didn't have the clarity to notice before -- one, that when I do eat sugar or bread or even a flour tortilla, I get acid indigestion. I guess I felt that way all the time before. And two, I do notice that I feel less buttery when I eat less butter. The last few days that I've had hard-cooked eggs at breakfast instead of an omelet cooked with butter, I definitely have felt more ready to move. I'm tempted to try fish oil or protein powder or recovery drink, because I like to be doing 'the right thing', but for me for now it's just about planning smarter meals and trying to eat right for the amount of exercise I'm getting.
I did have the enjoyment of shopping for new (smaller) pants again, so even if I don't have it perfect yet, at least it's still going in the right direction!
I'm down about 10 pounds since I gave up sugar 6 weeks ago. I half expected it to be twice that amount, but then, I have been on an extended salami binge. And I use about 1/2c of half and half in a day. So there's plenty of places I could cut back.

OK, I think I'm done with the logging too for now. I kept myself to the no sugar regimen through the Sectionals, but I shared half of Dean's coffee milkshake the night before my workouts and had a package of 5 marshmallow Peeps to celebrate my finish. They were harder to eat than I remember from last Easter! Because the results were so satisfying, I plan to keep to the no-sugar plan and see where I get in another two months. It will be interesting to see if moderation is possible for me in eating chocolate; it wasn't in drinking, therefore I don't ever drink. It's possible that the same will happen with sugar.
